Funfair

June Davey directed the most recent Whippets production. This was FUNFAIR written and running in the West Horsley Village Hall from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th March 2006 including a Saturday Matinee.

This musical play, specially written for the Whippets by Peter Brazier was first staged by them in 1984. Its revival brings alive again the colourful and comical characters as they struggle to save McWhirters Funfair from the brink of bankruptcy and the dubious attention of a gang of punks from the town. With a host of popular songs and the restoration of the original on-stage working showman’s steam engine, it offers a fair fun evening for the whole family.
